This was supposed to be posted on Friday, but I was busy planning/packing for my trip to Cancún; sorry about that. I'm here in Mexico now; I had to hack my way into my neighbor's wireless network so I only have a bar or two of signal strength, and that only works in one room in the house. They're supposed to give us our own modem sometime soon, but until then, don't expect me to be spending inordinate amounts of time on the site. On top of that, I don't want to spend my entire vacation on the computer.  Anyways, I won't make this update all about my vacation. Activity on the site's continued to pick up, which is really awesome to see. The chatroom's been getting some more use, as you can see from the log files. SD Bot might be not operating correctly for the next few days (or may not appear in the channel at all) due to the fact that I brought the laptop he usually sits on to Cancún with me. I've taken off channel moderation (mode +m) for the time being, so that people are able to chat without +v status in case SD Bot's temporarily out of commission. Needless to say, he'll be functioning correctly once more upon my return on December 30. SD now has a page on Facebook, which you can read about here. If you have a Facebook account and you decide to "become a fan", you'll be provided with links to site updates (as well as other important announcements) on your Facebook account. Also, you'll have the opportunity to connect with other SD members who also have a Facebook account. Another important topic was posted in the Symposium this week by Hobbies230; read this thread. Basically, we're planning on getting SD Halo matches started up again; in the early days around Halo 2's launch, we'd have games/tournaments over Xbox Live. It would be awesome if we could get the same thing started for Halo 3, though the idea's still in the planning stages. I know board statistics are probably a lot more interesting for me than they are for you, but I have an awesome one for you regarding posts per month on the site: in October this year a total of 55 posts were made, in November was 71, and this month we have a total of 342-- and the month's not even over yet. Keep up the great work, everyone! It seems like you all enjoyed the screenshot I posted in the last update, so here's another one.

Oh wow, that spike in activity is pretty significant. Maybe we can get up to our previous activity. Have fun in Cancun. I'm stuck here doing nothing. Its like 33 degrees and raining. No fun. |

I'll try to remember to check out the SD Facebook, though I rarely use Facebook so I probably won't remember. Very nice stats as well! It's very cool to see this place been picking up! Nice update, have fun in Cancun! |
