Along with life in general, Facebook has replaced discussion boards. Have you noticed? Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter are now the go-to for chatting, file sharing, and connecting. Nobody needs these places anymore. They're just nostalgic, which is why most long-time members pop in every now and again hoping to see an even minuscule sign of life. Most of the active members here have me on Facebook, so I end up talking with them more on there than on here. It's kind of sad... I'll miss the good old days of random threads that go on forever, chessy, yet endearing emoticons, signatures that are usually ugly and way too big for their own good, and avatars. |

I still visit discussion boards more than I use Facebook. If anything, I've replaced instant messaging with Facebook, however I still only use Facebook to talk to a couple of certain people (I don't really use any of the extra features/quizzes and such...those just annoy me). I've never even used MySpace, and I think Twitter is terrible. I miss the good ol' days as well. Edited by Hobbies230, Jul 10 2009, 11:51 AM.

I know what you mean. It's hard for other sites to compete with the sheer size of social networking sites like Facebook. I'm glad to see people still come here to chat from time to time, though! |
