Oh, howdy there.
I made a tutorial over the Demo Smoother, which is an in-game tool that allows you to "smooth" (create different camera angles and moving shots) demos (recorded replays). This is very useful for machinima and montage makers.

Games include:
Team Fortress 2 (used in the tutorial)
Left 4 Dead
Counter-Strike: Source
Half-Life 2
Counter-Strike
etc. (Basically, all of the games that use the Source and Goldsource engines, even the mods)

Since I can't embed here..

The Tutorial:
HD (YouTube)
HQ (YouTube) (For those with not so great computers.)

Outcome (Example clip):
HD (YouTube)
HQ (YouTube)

Here comes a dosage of Copy n Paste
Description

This is my 4th attempt at making a video tutorial, and to be honest probably the first decent one (ha), even though I dragged it out a little longer than I expected (10 minutes felt like 4)

You can get the map from here:
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/45247

The console commands used in the video were:
record
playdemo
sv_cheats
cl_drawhud
r_drawviewmodel
stopsound

record:
When you get into a game (could be online or just yourself [with some bots :D]), you can record a demo, which is basically just a replay of what you saw while playing. You can think of it like Halo 3's replay system, except there are some things that should be noted, very important things that should be noted.
The camera in the replay is your character, meaning when you hit the "drive" button, you're moving yourself around, if you shoot the screen could (I say could because I think I saw an update saying they fixed this) shake or show the shooting of your weapon will flash up on screen. Another thing that should be noticed, dying and crouching affect your smoothing. If you crouch in the middle of a shot, the shot will go down too and if you die it'll snap to a body shot.

Another thing, demos only record what's around you and what's in sight, it won't record a sniper all the way at the top of Blu sniping a pyro at Red unless you're witnessing the event yourself.

So my recommendation to remedy all of that is to just get in noclip, stay out of the way of the actors, and always follow the subject while recording (but don't go through any parts of the map, it'll show when you're smoothing)
playdemo:
Simple enough, you can play back the demo by typing it's name after typing the command.

sv_cheats 1:
Turns on cheats (..kinda obvious), allowing you to use commands that would be disabled during actual gameplay (or noclip when you want to record a scene)

cl_drawhud:
This can turn the hud on and off (1 or 0)

r_drawviewmodel:
Will hide the view model (your hands/weapon)

stopsound:
If a sound continues playing, you can use this to stop it (as seen in the tutorial lol)

Commands that could be useful to machinima makers:
noclip
(will add more later)

noclip:
This will allow you to basically fly around and not clip into objects or the map itself. Useful for getting out of the way or following people for a long one-shot take.
