Star Wars: Under the Iron Sky

Moderator Note: This RPG is set before the outbreak of the Mandalorian Wars (and will soon be in the Wars). No prior knowledge is required of KOTOR (but it would help). Please read through This Article if you are unfamilier with this setting.

Rules

1. No God Modding
2. Keep it within Canon (As in don't change what's already verified in Canon [I.E. Republic forces win a battle when in reality the Mandalorians actually did])
3. Try not to take the role of a major character, if you can make up your own...But please, don't be Revan.
4. No killing off of characters unless otherwise verified or accepted by said Characters owned.
5. Para-RP Please (Paragraphs, no one liners)
6. Please try to remain within the boundaries or appropriate roleplaying (I think you know what this refers too...Storm ;) )
7. Please try and use correct pronunciation, grammar, spelling etc,.
8. Stay within the stories boundaries, don't start discussing what happens in KOTOR (This refers also to Rule #2)
9. Have fun, if there are any questions or queries please discuss them with myself or the appropriate SD RPG Moderator for this sub forum IN PRIVATE MESSAGES. Let's not take up all these pages with nonessential OOC Conversations.

And so begins Under the Iron Sky

(With your beginning post, please fill out this information, and if you want, try to add it into the story somehow, like at the beginning of Mass Effect where you have to recreate your Shepards information/file.And if you want, see if you can pick an already existing actor/actress and post them as your person so we can have a sort of visual look at your character)

Tallis So'rin Actus stood upon against the curved wall that seemed to be made to focus at the transparisteel view wall at the center of the dual curved sections of the bulkhead on the Mandalorian Freighter, Malcontent. His left shoulder pressed into the cold framework of durasteel and other various metal built into the ship to help it travel within the violence that was the vacuum of space itself. His sighed was slow and stoic as his cerulean eyes watched over the small world beneath: Mandalore. The home of his people...Or at least, the race that he was supposed to be apart of. He glanced behind him with a exaggerated expression that seemed to signify his lack of care for the world below. Looking about at all the Mandalorians assembled, making their long journey to begin what he had heard, only as rumors, of their "Galactic Crusade".

Mandalore War...If only men could do such things... He thought to himself as he took a deep breath and slid his back onto the curved wall, removing his bare shoulder as he hooked his fingers into the rounded hole at the top of his metallic Mandalorian chest plate, the shoulder plates and sleeves removed, revealing his broad, tan and muscular arms as he looked around the hold at the life within. Assembled were men and women of many races: Twi'leks, Rodians, Togorians and of course Humans, besides many other species packed into the small freighter. He smirked, looked away and only chuckled at the sight. Maybe this "Great Crusade" isn't just a rumor... He thought once again to himself until he felt a slap upon his bare shoulder, he turned quickly to stare into the face of a man he knew very well, Canderous Ordo.

"If this wasn't a Mandalorian ship, you'd be dead by now ner vod," The Mandalorian said with a smile as he followed Ordo's gaze out of the transparisteel view wall towards the world, "what do you want Ordo?" Ordo's words were crisp, as usual, and stern. He had the sense of a drill sergeant of him more than a pure warrior, "Beautiful isn't it?" He asked as his hand kept upon Tallis' bare shoulder. "I guess...If your into that sentimental *BLAM*..." Tallis replied, barely even realizing what he had said before the words were spoken but alas, he let them go without even a single movement.

"Sentimental *BLAM*? Tell me Tallis, have you ever seen so many Mando'ade packed into a ship before? So many so close at one time?" His head had turned to look at Tallis', the twenty three year old warrior barely even gave Canderous a glance, "So the rumor is true then...This new Mandalore is starting a war..." Tallis said as he smiled, realizing that for once, scuttlebutt was correct.

"I think you already knew the answer to that my friend..." Ordo replied as he removed his hand and folded his arms across his broad chest as he took a deep breath, "You should join us...If not for glory and honor at least to earn some credits..." His offer was tempting, "We'll see..." But once again, his words spoke before his mind did...

Name: Marez Walon Skirata
Alias: A'den
Affiliation: Mandalorians
Ethnicity: Mandalorian 'Asian'
Clan (If Mandalorian):Skirata
Age: 25
Height: 5'8
Hair Color & Style worn: Black, high and tight
Weight: 145 pounds
Distinguishing Facial Marks, tattoo's, body parts: a three blade shaped tattoo between his right eye and his temple
Other: Single. When he was sixteen, he was on patrol with some of his fellow mercenaries for their contractor. They were ambushed, his cousin and brother were taken prisoner, they were tortured relentlessly, it was Marez himself that had to put 'them to sleep' during a daring rescue op.

The hologram came to life on one of his comm links, Marez Skirata turned from his flight controls of his starfighter 'Bes'uliik' It was a male Kuati. 'Speak, aruetii. My patience is thin' the Kuati smiled and said 'Mr Skirata, I've heard of your prowess as security detail for cargo shipments....and I have a little job for you. It pays well, 150,000 credits transferred to your account once the job is done, how does it sound?' Marez stayed silent, even without his helmet on, he was a hard man to read. 'depends...what's the job here?'

'Two cargo ships destined to your fellow Mandalorians, I need them to be escorted, from pirates to....republic patrols, they will be delivered to a spaceport at these coordinates, don't worry about where, when or what. Just get the job done.'

'I want half the credits transferred to this account within the next hour, and the rest when the job is complete, no tricks here, Chakaar' It's the fifth escort job in three months, to the exact same area, the Mandalorians, his fellow race of warriors, are up to something big, the signs are there, from increased cargo activities, to cantina chatter. Marez sighed, he had been out of contact from his people for quite sometime. Regardless, he knew he would find out soon enough. He engaged his hyperdrive, and headed towards the RV coordinates of his 'clients'

Name: Kex Dudongo
Alias(s): K, Dud, K-dud, Kedu Dongox, Ongo Rex, Uta Moko, Xek Ognodud, Brief, Foursies, Dudngo, Four Arms, Btish Ungo, bangeh, Ef-fo, The Fat Man, Smuggles-in-thighs, etc.
Affiliation: Freelance Smuggler.
Ethnicity: Besalisk

Age: 28
Height: 5'7
Weight:260
Distinguishing Features: Tattoo of a Twi'lek holding two jugs (over her jugs) on his top right arm.

Space Ship: Zealous One. Won from a Rodian in a game of Pazaak. It can comfortably carry eight passengers, and has two charging slots for droids, for a total of ten organisms. With a weight load maximum of 50 metric tons or 110,231 pounds this ship has some lifting power. Zealous One currently has a crew of four. Himself, a Bothan engineer (Koth Rul'ges), and two BLX Labor Droids (B)&(A)

"Hurry the hell up, Yah damn droids!" Kex yelled at the labor droids who where busy stacking the nondescript crates into the cargo container.

The gritty landing bay on an asteroid in the middle of no where was quickly wearing Kexs patience thin. From the moment Zealous One had set down they had faced nothing but bad luck. The forward thrusters had been damaged by floating debris when they set down, The Cloud Skipper had been late delivering the crates, and to top it off Kex had to wait now for further instructions and confirmation on the delivery. At this rate he wouldn't be surprised if it was all a setup by the Republic. He had no idea where he was going, or for who.

"So, why are you guys not doing the full run?" Kex asked the captain of the Cloud-Skipper, a Devaronion of diminutive stature.

"Boss Paulik never told us, outta da loop we're. But it aint not like we're short o' work. We gotta a rendezvous with one'o dem der slave trader ships some-few half dozen parsecs from 'ere." The Devaronion Stammered.

"Yeah, it's not like I don't appreciate the work. You can thank Boss Paulik and send him my regards."

Maybe work was good for Pauliks thugs but anyone who wasn't directly working for a crime lord got boned in this sector. Work is tough for free-lancers, we take what we can get. If Paulik wants to throw some scraps every once and a while that would be wonderful.

The Devaronion and his crew had finished unloading and the Cloud-skipper departed. The droids continued to load everything onto the container, and Koth was finishing up fixing the forward thrusters. All Kex had to do now was wait.

Marez's starfighter entered the system. 'engage sensors, and run an engine check, I don't want any nasty surprises when we run into osik' he told his Astromech droid T3-D2. The sensors suddenly pinged something, and his droid beeped in surprise. Marez smiled 'that my friend, would be our 'clients''

He switched his comm to open and contacted the two cargo ships 'This is the starfighter 'Bes'uliik, your boss has asked me to baby sit you. I have only one rule: You are no good to me dead'

"... no good to me dead!"

Who plans on dying? Kex wondered to himself.

"The plan has changed, I'm the only ship you'll be escorting now. I have the cargo of the other ship, a soon as you can tell me where we're going we can get going... and none of that I can't tell you bull*BLAM*." Kex wasn't going anywhere until he knew where. He began readying systems.

Interesting. Marez thought to himself, from two ships to one, and he does not even know what is the cargo. 'Alright aruetii, you are to deliver the goods to Mandalore, my homeworld, we will be contacted once we get there....and please wipe your hyperdrive records clean after you make the jump, I don't want any republic agents to get wind of this operation'

He powered up his engines and headed for the system's edge, then curiosity overwhelmed him, so he asked 'mind telling me what are you carrying so I know what not to die for?'

The Malcontent landed not a few dozen minutes later, thankfully so. Tallis wasn't even sure he could stand another minute debating his worthiness to Mandalore's cause with Canderous Ordo. He didn't quite care about this Mandalorian Crusade, he only cared about getting paid. It was then as he carried the duffel bag full of extra kit, clothing and equipment over his shoulder that he felt a hand pat onto his right shoulder, "You don't give up do you Ordo?"

"Not at all...Come with me, I have someone you might be interested in meeting..." Canderous said, leaving Tallis only to sigh as he looked around, watching all the Mandalorians aboard the Malcontent make their way into Keldabe. "You owe me a drink for this..." Tallis said, honestly he had been looking forward to relaxing in one of the local Cantina's, enjoying his drink but Canderous had robbed him of that.

Canderous led him to a blue and white trimmed Mandalorian speeder, Tallis threw the bag into the bag and pulled himself into the passenger seat, relaxing deep into the seat as he leaned his head back and drift into a deep sleep. He had dreams of conquest and riches but more so of death and vengeance. Awakened from his slumber by the slow halting of the vehicle as his eyes fluttered open and light filtered back into them, "Where are we?"

"The Mandalorian headquarters...Mandalore is about to make his declaration of war to all the clans, the Republic won't even see it coming..."

"I'd tell you if I knew. The crates are locked and made of durasteel. Nothings getting them open but the password. Hyperdrive ready, coordinates entered, and ready to go." Kex said "I'm following your lead." Damn Mandalorians, dumber then a female Wookie in heat.

Marez fired up his engines, and announced 'on my mark, engage hyperdrive!'
The starfighter jerked forward when it suddenly was pulled back by an invisible force. 'Fiefek!' cursed Marez, as two Republic corvettes emerged from a nebula field. He switched channels to the cargo ship 'The Republic was waiting all along, they have a suppression field somewhere around here, Osik!'

A voice piped through his comms, 'This is the Republic patrol corvette Sentinel. Stop your engines and prepare to be boarded!' Marez flipped through his controls and powered up his weapons, 'T3, give me full power to the engines, I am going to smoke these Aruetii' The droid beeped and whistled in response. Then he told the cargo ship 'power up your shields and weapons, and don't even think about running, your ship's speed is not even half of their corvettes'

Looks like I'm late to the plarty. Hope you boys didn't start without me.

Name: Seth Ondarun
Alias: N/A (havn't come up with one yet)
Affiliation: Galactic Republic
Ethnicity: Caucasian Human
Clan (If Mandalorian): N/A
Age: 19
Height: 6'0"
Hair Color & Style worn: Brown hair, sort of wavy, only a few inches long
Weight: 196 lbs.
Distinguishing Facial Marks, tattoo's, body parts: N/A (Yet)
Other: Joined the Republic military at the age of 18. From the core world of Alderaan. Parents are upper middle-class ranchers on Alderaan.

Seth sat on the third row of the transport ship, eying his new uniform. He had completed basic training three nights prior, and was now on his way to his first post. The world of Taris. A grizzled man sat next to him and noticed the way that Seth was admring the brand new uniform.
The man spoke, "Looks like you just joined the fleet. Looking to get away from home?"
Seth looked up "Heh, well sir, I just got bored of herding nerfs and the like around. I want some adventure."
Man: "I don't think you'll be finding any of that where we're going. Taris is a peacefull place. Nothing's happened there in a long while."

Seth nodded and stared ahead out the window of the ship. So he was going to the Outer Rim world of Taris on his first assingment? That would be easy. He had heard rumors about riots in Taris, but this old man assured him that there was nothing to worry about. He puched the thoughts to the back of his head. Instead of worrying, he laid his head back on the seat and dozed off for the remainder of the trip.

"Koth! Divert half power to shields, quarter power to weapons!" Kex yelled over the radio, as he began to ready blasters. The communications klaxon began to blare, he was being hailed by the Republic ship. He pressed the button to accept the hail.

"This is Captain Ghent of The Republic corvette Sentinel. I and Captain Kharday of the corvette Prosperity have you locked, your shields will not last more then .5 seconds. Power down your systems. Your Mandalorian friend will not last much longer." Kex cut communications.

"Koth, divert all power to engines, tracking EMP field, and magnetic couplings. Droids, ready explosive charges" Kex radioed, Koth responded with a green ready check. If this didn't work they where both dead.

Kex waited for an opportune moment. The Corvettes opened fire on the Mandalorian. Kex Engaged engine boosters and the tracking EMP field. "Ready magnetic couplings!" Kex pulled The Zealous one under the Prosperity and attached the couplings. "Release charges!" The Zealous one pulled away from the Prosperity. He activated the charges. The explosion tore the Prosperity in half. Out of the gaping wound in the ship came bodies, crates, and the ships intestines. The ship that was once whole now lay in to pieces. Neither moved, or fired weapons.

Marez stared at the remains of the prosperity and smiled, he would use the debris as part of his plan. He powered up his engines and feigned an escape, and plowed right through the debris field, carefully avoiding the dead, and as expected, the corvette gave the chase in full speed. 'I've read you inside out, you di'kut!' the captain of the Sentinel foolishly forgot to boost his shields, and the debris ripped his shielding apart.

Marez flipped around and facing the bridge of the Republic Corvette, opened up the two auto cannons on his starfighter, no sense wasting his missiles and ion torpedoes. The bridge burst into flames, rendering it disabled.

He opened a comm link to the cargo ship, 'looks like you are not the di'kut as I thought, Mandokarla. boost your sensors to maximum, it might be able to penetrate the nebula field, we need to find the source of the gravity well projectors and take it out'
