I was wondering who on the site has this game, is going to buy it, etc. Personally I've been playing since before Christmas and it has one of the most in-depth story lines I've ever seen in a video game. I won't give away plot details, but I've just finished the mission on Virmire. I'm playing for paragon but once I beat the game I'll be playing through for renegade.

Oh, and I'm a Vanguard, I heard somewhere it's the best class and so far that seems to be true.

Eh, soldier puts all the other classes to shame. But messing with the biotics and tech powers certainly is fun. Awesome game, though. Can't wait for the next one.

I loved the main story line, but the subplot really disapointed me.

I played throught the whole game on Soldier. Soldiers are just walking, industructable tanks.

The main story line was good enough to be a movie. It was so awesome. But exploring other planets was just boring. They were all the same thing.

In my opinion, KOTOR is 1,000 times better. Mass Effect is epic, but the subplots just suck.
So what, I'm a Star Wars geek?!?

Do you actually like EA wreckage? :bs:

I was playing it, since I got it for Christmas, until my 360 broke. Pretty darn fun, but there's a few things that aren't so great. For one, it kind of gets annoying when side quests pop up every time you look at your galaxy map, even if you don't want to do them. Sure, you don't have to do them, but they hog space in your journal. I don't mind one every now and then, but I think most side quests should have been assigned by another way.

And Storm is right about the planets. It sucks to explore them. If not for the stubborn vehicle controls, the fact that every planet has the same stuff (mineral here, merc base , etc.) sort of ruins the immersion. There's just not enough variation.

But overall, the game is massively fun (erm, bad pun).

Oh and I forgot to mention the gay mini game that you have to do unlock things and survey ruins. Its annoying and pointless. The system in KOTOR was way better.

I agree with the whole planet exploration part. Overall, though, the game's excellent, and the story's epic.

Kotor gameplay was retarded. Story was awesome, yes, but the fighting system sucked. Mass effect wins just for that.

Finally beat it.

The ending was simply epic.

As a story, Mass Effect is great. But as a game, it could use some improvement.

It would make a great movie, but so would KOTOR.

It was very very very fun playing it through the first time . . . then I tried a second character and found out that despite making different "choices" the game turned out almost exactly the same. Fun, but poor replay value, I found.

I liked the replay value, and I am excited for Mass effect 2.

Guess what? All that fuss about Mass Effect 1 & 2, and I still haven't even touched it yet :P

:agreed:

Awesome game the first time through, but it's very hard to find the inclination to beat the game a second time.
